Students’ Perceived the Effectiveness of Expert Seminar as Flipped Classroom Component in Higher STEM Education—A Pilot Study
摘要
This pilot study examined the impact of integrating expert seminar into flipped classroom model for science students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Analytical Sciences for Testing and Certification programme. Quantitative data from post-seminar surveys (N = 19) revealed high levels of student satisfaction (over 84%) that the seminar provided practical examples, fostered a collaborative environment, and enhanced academic and professional development. Students also reported improved readiness for future scientific work, with average scores ranging from over 4 out of 5. Additionally, 95% rated the overall quality and relevance of the assigned seminar positively. Qualitative insights from focus group interviews (N = 6) supported these findings, highlighting the value of expert talks in improving conceptual understanding and engagement. Overall, the integration of expert seminars was found to be a meaningful and effective strategy for enriching flipped classroom experiences in STEM education.
