Principles of Radiobiology
摘要
Radiobiology is the scientific field dedicated to understanding how ionizing radiation affects living systems. It acts as a crucial bridge between two core disciplines: radiation physics, which provides the framework for how energy is deposited in matter, and biology, which explains the complex structure and function of life. By merging these fields, radiobiology seeks to explain the sequence of events that begins with a physical energy deposition and culminates in a biological outcome, such as cell death, mutation or tissue damage.
