Synthesis and Fabrication Techniques

The development of nanoscience and nanotechnology is driving the wave of the technology revolution and impacting the broad range of areas of digital healthcare and theranostic applications. Nanoparticles are the fundamental building block of nanomaterials and nanostructures for the synthesis and fabrication of smart and sustainable nanomaterials. A large number of nanomaterials and nanostructures have been developed that depend on nonrenewable resources as well as energy-intensive manufacturing processes. A wide variety of physical, chemical, and mechanical syntheses of nanomaterials are used for tuning the size and shape. Moreover, biological synthesis is found to be cost-effective, eco-friendly, and free of any chemical contaminants in comparison to other syntheses for medical and biological applications. The current scenario appears to us that the various important concepts have been established in digital healthcare as well as theranostic fields. In this area, new advances are uninterruptedly growing to improve efficiency, bio-specific stimulation functionalities, and nanomaterial sustainability. This chapter focuses on cutting-edge synthesis approaches and advanced manufacturing approaches for smart and sustainable nanomaterials in digital healthcare and theragnostic applications.
