摘要

In the era of ever-growing human population, the emergence of neoteric ailments and sundry pandemics is not uncommon. Contemporary healthcare practices are focused on finding effective solutions to combat such diseases with ease. The unique properties of nanomaterials make them versatile candidates for use in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Of late, the development and application of biosensors has substantiated to be a pivotal frontier in healthcare and theragnosis. Biosensing technologies aid in the diagnosis, monitoring, and prevention of disease states. In this chapter, we discuss on the spectrum of smart and sustainable nanomaterials availed for use in the design of biosensors. The future trends and innovations in the application of biosensing devices for healthcare, such as miniaturization, point-of-care testing, smartphone integration, and others have been discussed. Further, it provides insights on the challenges related to use of nano-based biosensors for healthcare and theragnosis.
