Research on the Key Technologies of Operation Scheduling Optimization Based on Bus Data

Passenger travel and vehicle operating characteristics are the basic component of bus operation scheduling. Bus operation scheduling is an important part of bus management services, which affect directly the operating costs and income of operating companies and the quality of service for bus passengers. An analytical framework for bus operation scheduling optimization is proposed based on bus big data mining vehicle and passenger travel rules. It would be provided decision information for bus management. Firstly, the bus Origin and Destination (OD) is analyzed based on Integrated Circuit Card (IC), Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) data, and bus dispatch data. And the bus travel chain was enhanced by machine learning method. Secondly, static and dynamic evaluation index system for bus operation scheduling were built. Finally, Bus operation scheduling optimization plan was proposed based on bus OD, vehicle operating characteristics, and evaluation index system. In case study, focusing on the bus line 527 of Guangzhou City, the bus line characteristics were analyzed, the problems were diagnosed, and the program was optimized of operational scheduling. The information mined through the method is of great significance for urban road traffic management.
