Research on Application Status and Development Trend of Weigh-In-Motion Technology for Trucks

Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) technology, as a pivotal technological governance measure, enables efficient and precise monitoring of illegal overloading and oversize vehicles. This paper systematically analyses WIM technology, focusing on its large-scale application outcomes driven by China's highway overloading control policies. It delves into the technical precision bottlenecks, data coordination management challenges, and legal enforcement obstacles encountered during the application. The study explores the convergence trends between WIM technology and cutting-edge innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), while outlining its developmental trajectory towards intelligent, networked, and automated enforcement systems.
