Discussion on the Connection and Coordination Path of Goods Names in Multimodal Transport in China

The name of goods runs through the whole multimodal transport process, and the coordinated name of goods is the premise and foundation of multimodal transport. On the basis of literature investigation, field investigation and expert discussion, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the current situation of cargo name classification in different fields such as railway transportation, road transportation, waterway transportation, air transportation, foreign trade import and export, domestic trade circulation, etc., and analyzes and expounds the problems that restrict the convergence and coordination of cargo names in multimodal transport, such as the inconsistent classification system of cargo names in different modes of transportation in China, the inconsistent coding rules of cargo names, and the differences in the definition of dangerous goods. Based on the demand of promoting the convergence and coordination of cargo names steadily, orderly and practically, This paper puts forward some practical ways to promote the convergence and coordination of goods names, such as unifying goods coding rules in stages, formulating differentiation schemes between ordinary goods and dangerous goods, studying differentiation schemes between foreign trade transportation and domestic trade transportation, establishing comparison table between goods name database and codes, pilot promotion and publicity training, etc.
