Overview of Fault Diagnosis Methods for New Energy Vehicle Power Battery

As the core component of new energy vehicles, the performance of the power battery directly affects the vehicle’s driving range and safety. Power batteries in use may be due to material aging, management system failure and other reasons for a variety of failures. These failures not only reduce the performance of the battery, but also may lead to safety accidents. Therefore, researching common fault diagnosis methods for power batteries is particularly important. This article provides a detailed analysis of common faults. In response to these faults, the article introduces knowledge-based, model-based, and data-driven fault diagnosis methods, along with the current domestic and international research status. It analyses the main problems existing in the current research of power battery fault diagnosis technology and its future development direction, with a view to achieving accurate diagnosis and early prevention and control of power battery faults, improving the safety and stability of new energy vehicles, safeguarding the lives and properties of drivers and passengers, and promoting the healthy and rapid development of new energy vehicle industry.
