Column Generation Algorithm for Customized Bus Scheduling and Route Optimization

Customized bus is an innovative urban transportation system, which plays an important role in meeting the personalized travel needs of passengers. This paper deeply discusses the comprehensive issues of customized bus route optimization and vehicle scheduling. This study develops a mixed integer programming model for customized bus scheduling under demand response, aiming to maximize reservation demand while accounting for limited bus resources. The model integrates constraints such as bus capacity constraints, passenger time window constraints, and mandatory connection constraints, and comprehensively considers the dynamic interaction between customized buses and passenger demand. The column generation algorithm is used to reconstruct the multi-commodity network flow model. Finally, the feasibility of the constructed model and the effectiveness of the designed algorithm are verified by numerical experiments and actual cases. It aims to provide scientific and efficient decision support tools for bus companies to optimize resource allocation, improve service quality, and ultimately promote the sustainable development of urban transportation systems.
