Nanomaterials are increasingly used in all areas of human life. One of the least studied and one of the most promising is the use of nanomaterials in agriculture. The range of applications of nanomaterials in agriculture is very wide: delivery systems, animal nutrition, seed germination, nano-fertilizers, plant growth promoters, decrease in plant stress, biocatalyst, agri-waste recycling, water and wastewater purification, soil reclamation, soil quality, food packaging, sensors, nano-pesticides, nano-herbicides, nano-fungicides, disinfectants, etc. Nanomaterials synthesis has emerged as a groundbreaking approach in soil science, offering innovative solutions to long-standing agricultural and environmental challenges. These materials, with their unique physical and chemical properties, have shown potential in enhancing soil fertility, improving plant growth, and remediating contaminated soils. Current chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the various aspects of nanomaterial production methodologies, including synthesis techniques, pros and cons of each method, challenges, and future prospects. This includes exploring green synthesis techniques that minimize environmental impact. Advances in this field are crucial for addressing global issues like food security and environmental degradation, making nanomaterials synthesis a vital area of study in modern soil science.
