Nanoparticles offer promising solutions for combating soil pollution and mitigating ecological risks. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of their role in soil remediation. Initially, soil pollution sources and ecological impacts are outlined, underscoring the necessity for innovative approaches. Nanoparticles exhibit unique properties that enable efficient interaction with soil pollutants, including heavy metals and organic contaminants. Various types of nanoparticles are explored, emphasizing their advantages and limitations in remediation applications. However, concerns regarding the environmental fate and ecotoxicological effects of nanoparticles necessitate careful consideration. Despite challenges, the integration of nanotechnology with traditional remediation methods holds promise for addressing soil pollution effectively. Future research directions aim to enhance understanding, optimize techniques, and ensure the safe and sustainable application of nanoparticles in soil remediation efforts.
