To perform any ex vivo investigation of the body, it must be first recreated in as much detail as possible. This calls for measurements and imaging processes to be carried out. While patient specific computational models can be used to generate valuable insights into the cardiovascular system, the 3D modelling of the entire vasculature is a time consuming and computationally expensive process. However, to perform any ex vivo investigation of the body, it must be first recreated in as much detail as possible. This calls for measurements and imaging processes to be carried out. Imaging involves capturing and recreating the physical features including dimensions and shapes as well as material properties such as density with as much accuracy as possible. Over the years, CT angiography and MRI techniques have been developed and deployed in a variety of situations where an accurate picture of the vascular system has been required.
