Future Prospects and Innovations in Bioenergy Technology and AI Assistance in Bioenergy Research
摘要
The rapid depletion of fossil fuels and the rate of rising climate changes have necessitated a global revert to sustainable and renewable energy systems. Due to its diversification, the ability to reduce carbon emissions, and the capacity to utilize waste products of industry, agriculture, and cities, bioenergy has turned out to be an important component of the renewable energy plan. Having a particular focus on biomass resources, improved conversion pathways, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the bioenergy research and development, the chapter provides a comprehensive insight into the existing developments and the future of bioenergy. Besides thermochemical, biochemical, physicochemical, and mechanical conversion technologies, sustainable biomass feeds, including agricultural residues, forest biomass, energy crops, industrial wastes, and microalgae, are systematically examined in the chapter. The schemes of energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and the circular economy are explored critically against the new developments such as biorefineries, second- and third-generation biofuels, and biomass-generated hydrogen. Moreover, being an innovative solution to enhance the functioning of bioenergy systems, the role of AI and data-driven methods in streamlining the feedstock choice, process control, and yield forecast, as well as the lifecycle evaluation, is emphasized. Bioenergy is also facilitated by international accords, policy frameworks, and regulatory systems. The chapter is informative to researchers, policymakers, and industrial stakeholders who want to accelerate the transition to resilient, low-carbon bioenergy future through the integration of technology developments, sustainability concerns, and regulation.
