摘要

Based on actual observations conducted at meteorological stations in the Yertis Basin of Kazakhstan, as well as ERA5 reanalysis data, the authors’ hypothesis of a significant correlation between climate warming in the spring and summer months and an increase in the total duration of atmospheric blocking events over the basin is confirmed. Using April and July as an example, it was established that the statistical relationships between these processes strengthened over the period 1961–2022 and remain significant in the current climate period. The total duration of blocking events increased in April from 1981 to 2024, while it decreased in July. Therefore, if the scenario for the further development of the processes under study remains unchanged, climate warming in eastern Kazakhstan will continue at an even higher rate in April and will decrease in July.
