Evaluation and Design of Wide-Bandwidth Measurement Performance for Current Sensors

Current sensors are widely used in power systems, national defense, industrial production and scientific research. This paper classifies widely-used current sensors into five categories: shunts, electromagnetic current transformers, Rogowski coils, magnetic sensors, and new types of current sensors. This paper introduces the principles of various current measurement technologies, analyzes their advantages and disadvantages and presents a comparative analysis of these technologies in terms of measurement range, bandwidth, accuracy, and application scenarios. Finally, A wide-bandwidth current sensor based on tunnel magnetic resistance technology is designed, the development trends and application prospects of current sensors in the context of new energy grid integration are discussed.
