Introduction to Neurogenetic Disability
摘要
Neurological disability, or neuro-disability, a neurological genetic disability, is a condition that involves disorders of the neural system, resulting in functional impairment and any difficulty experienced by individuals in fulfilling the essential and instrumental roles of daily living. This chapter will discuss the various neurogenetic and neurodevelopmental disorders in human beings. It looks at the way genetic and neural developmental disorders affect the brain’s ability to work, behaviour, and overall growth. The chapter explains the biological and developmental factors contributing to such disorders and looks at their impact on human abilities. It emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and effective treatment. The chapter will discuss the fact that neurogenetic disability and families experience enormous social barriers, which consist of a lack of access to inclusive education, healthcare, and employment; social stigma; and emotional distress.
