Research on Methods of PV System Energy Efficiency Assessment

Photovoltaic (PV) power generation is a crucial pathway for achieving the “dual carbon goals” strategy, a pillar of China’s advantageous industries, and a representative industry of the emerging productive forces. However, the operation and maintenance (O&M) methods of PV systems still remain in an extensive mode, lacking quantitative evaluation means for O&M efficiency. We conducted research on energy efficiency assessment methods for PV systems, proposed energy efficiency assessment indicator, and established an indicator quantification model. Subsequently, the proposed method was applied to evaluate the energy efficiency of 50 typical inverters in a centralized PV power station in Guangxi. The results show that the energy efficiency of two inverter branches is significantly lower than that of other branches, while the energy efficiency of 12 inverter branches is significantly higher than that of other branches, thereby verifying the feasibility of the proposed method.
