Graduate study is demanding. It requires sustained intellectual effort, significant time commitments, and the ability to navigate uncertainty and setbacks. While the pursuit of advanced scholarship can be deeply rewarding, it can also be exhausting. Students often juggle coursework, research, teaching responsibilities, employment, and personal obligations. Without attention to well-being and balance, the pressures of graduate study can result in stress, burnout, or attrition.
