Communication and Feedback Practices

At the heart of graduate supervision lies communication. Research, writing, and intellectual development are inherently dialogic: they depend on exchange, critique, and reflection. Supervisors and students who communicate effectively establish relationships of trust, mutual understanding, and productive collaboration. Conversely, poor communication is among the leading causes of dissatisfaction, conflict, and attrition in graduate programs.
