AI and blockchain are playing essential roles in improving disaster and climate resilience. AI predicts disasters through predictive analytics, early warning systems, and real-time disaster monitoring, such as AI-powered drones, post-disaster damage assessment, AI-based climate models. The use of blockchain in disaster management is invaluable, as it can be used to distribute humanitarian aid, ensure transparency, manage supply chains, and provide disaster insurance. The combined role of AI and blockchain provides innovative solutions for reducing disaster impacts and building disaster and climate resilience in communities around the globe. The combined role of AI and blockchain can be visualized as predictive analytics with blockchain-verified data and the potential of blockchain to share AI models and data across the globe, thereby improving disaster preparedness across regions. While AI and blockchain may offer society innumerable benefits, other shortfalls must also be considered, such as data privacy and security issues, a lack of technical infrastructure, interoperability challenges, the need to devise a comprehensive governance framework to address the ethical problems, and the equitable reach of these advanced technologies.
