Case Studies: Optical Biosensors for Antibiotic Abuse Detection

Biosensing favours optical biosensors due to their sensitivity, specificity, and adaptability. These biosensors use real-time, rapid, and non-invasive detection to advance analytical sensing. In environmental studies, agriculture, biotechnology, food inspection, disease diagnosis, safety, and medicine, such devices detect and quantify a variety of analytes involving light-biological interactions using labelled or label-free methods. To accelerate research and development, optical biosensors must be integrated and carefully examined due to the high speed of invention. Over the past decade, optical biosensing technology has advanced in labelled and label-free ways. This overview covers the key components and principles of optical biosensors. Despite stability, environmental variables, and formation complexity, nanotechnology and biotechnology are improving optical biosensor efficiency. This article additionally covers optical biosensors for antibiotic detection in food, water, and healthcare settings. This work provides a unique understanding of the optical biosensor by detecting target analytes with specificity, quantitative, accuracy, and sensitivity. It’s expected to lead to biosensors with more uses.
