Particle Suspended Drop-on-Demand Inkjet Printing

Particle-suspended drop-on-demand inkjet printing is investigated using a multiphysics LBM framework. The focus is placed on how suspended particles and thermal effects influence droplet ejection, filament breakup, satellite formation, and printing stability. The numerical model combines the MRT color-gradient LBM for multiphase flow, the smoothed profile method for particle dynamics, and an LBM-based heat transfer model. GPU-based parallel computing is also introduced to improve computational efficiency for three-dimensional simulations. Through this integrated approach, multiphase flow, particle motion, and temperature-dependent fluid properties are analyzed together in inkjet printing processes.
