Offshore Currents

This chapter systematically introduces offshore currents, focusing on tidal currents, including their phenomena, classification into rotary and reversing types, and harmonic analysis, wind-driven currents, covering direction and velocity, as well as wave-induced currents, such as mass transport, longshore current prediction, and rip current characteristics. It also covers field observations, data collection, and analysis methods for nearshore flow systems.
