Research and Application Progress of New Materials in Competitive Sports

With the rapid development of modern science and technology, new material technology has become a key driving force for improving the level of competitive sports. This paper systematically summarizes the research status and application progress of new materials in the field of competitive sports in recent years, focusing on the innovative applications of high-performance fiber materials, nanotechnology, intelligent materials, and composite materials in sports equipment design, swimsuits, sports shoes, sports equipment, and other aspects. Research shows that the application of new materials has significantly improved the functionality, safety, and environmental friendliness of sports equipment, effectively promoting the improvement of athletes' competitive performance. Meanwhile, this paper analyzes the existing technical bottlenecks, insufficient standardization, cost-effectiveness issues, and other challenges in current research, and looks forward to future development trends. It points out that intelligence, personalization, and green sustainable development will be important directions of sports material science and technology. This review aims to provide theoretical reference for researchers in related fields and promote the in-depth application of new material technology in competitive sports.
