Wear and Thin Film on Polyphenylene Sulfide Thrust Ball Bearing under Rolling Contact Fatigue in Water Part 2: Effect of Thrust Load on Race Surface under 2300 N, 2200 N, and 2100 N

摘要

Transfer film on sliding and rolling mechanical elements was expected to require three type effects, reduction of surface wear, control of friction coefficient, and protection from further damage. Previous studies were evaluated the comparison of wear rate, surface roughness, characteristics on polymer components under different rotation, temperature, and load. On the other hand, it is unclear that the effect of the transfer film under rolling contact fatigue (RCF). In particular, the findings of the relation between the wear behaviour and the transfer film under RCF in lubrication environment is limited in the polymer ball bearing field. Therefore, the transfer film under different load conditions was investigated in this study to confirm the formation of thin and continuous transfer film under the thrust loads of 2200 N and 2100 N. From the observation results, we concluded that there were a few key features of the wear and the thin film for understanding RCF of the polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) thrust ball bearings under 2300, 2200, and 2100 N.
