摘要

This chapter emphasizes the urgent need to redefine STEM education in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). While STEM has been vital in addressing global challenges, its implementation encounters obstacles, including fragmented disciplinary practices, insufficient teacher preparation, and curriculum gaps. Despite these challenges, STEM remains a strong framework, focusing on student-centered learning, real-world problem-solving, and collaboration. The rapid growth of AI is transforming the boundaries of STEM fields: in science and mathematics, AI improves modeling and data analysis; in engineering, it drives automation and innovative design; and in creative disciplines, it fosters new forms of expression. More than just a tool, AI acts as an active participant in classrooms, enabling personalized learning, better decision-making, and digital literacy. However, integrating AI effectively requires critical thinking, ethical awareness, and the ability to validate AI outputs. Ultimately, this chapter advocates for an interdisciplinary, process-oriented STEM system that prepares learners for human–AI collaboration in future careers.
