摘要

Plasma sterilization has emerged as a pivotal low-temperature technique for reprocessing delicate laparoscopic instruments that are incompatible with conventional heat- and moisture-based methods. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of plasma sterilization, including its underlying principles, system components, installation requirements, and operational protocols. Utilizing hydrogen peroxide–based plasma, this technology ensures effective eradication of bacteria, viruses, and spores through disruption of microbial cellular structures. Detailed descriptions of equipment architecture, including the sterilization chamber, vacuum and gas injection systems, and control interfaces, are presented. Emphasis is placed on proper system setup, environmental considerations, and adherence to safety standards. The chapter also outlines step-by-step operating procedures, routine maintenance, troubleshooting strategies, and best practices to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards in modern laparoscopic practice.
