Mini-Laparoscopy Instruments

摘要

Mini-laparoscopy represents an evolution of conventional laparoscopic surgery, utilizing instruments with smaller diameters (1.9–3.5 mm) to further minimize surgical trauma and improve cosmetic outcomes. Advances in instrument design, including enhanced ergonomics, durability, and low-friction trocar systems, have expanded its applicability to a wide range of procedures such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and hernia repair. Compared to standard laparoscopy, mini-laparoscopy offers reduced parietal injury, less postoperative pain, and superior aesthetic results, while maintaining comparable operative times and safety profiles. Specialized instruments, including fine graspers, micro scissors, and needle holders, enable precise tissue handling despite their smaller size. However, limitations such as reduced strength, higher cost, and suboptimal optics persist. Continued technological innovation is expected to address these challenges, further establishing mini-laparoscopy as an important modality in minimally invasive surgery.
