Endoscopes
摘要
This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of endoscopes and their integral role in modern laparoscopic and endo-laparoscopic surgery. It highlights recent advancements in optical systems, digital imaging, and light technologies that have significantly enhanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. The chapter describes the structure and function of key components of the endoscopy workstation, including the video processing system, light source, CO₂ insufflator, and electrosurgical units. Detailed technical descriptions of commonly used endoscopes—such as gastroscopes, colonoscopes, duodenoscopes, and choledochoscopes—are provided along with their accessories and clinical applications. Emphasis is placed on cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety. Additionally, troubleshooting strategies for common operational issues are outlined. This knowledge enables surgeons and trainees to optimize endoscopic performance and improve procedural efficiency and outcomes.
