摘要

The global transition to sustainable industrial processes has accelerated the investigation of microbial proteases as adaptable biocatalysts in biorefinery applications. Microbial proteases provide economical and environmentally beneficial substitutes for traditional chemical processes, aiding biofuel generation, waste reuse, and biomass conversion. They are crucial to the development of biotechnology because of their wide range of catalytic capabilities, stability in various environments, and potential for genetic optimization. The origins, categorization, and processes of microbial proteases are examined in this study, emphasizing their critical functions in protein hydrolysis, biopolymer breakdown, and the creation of value-added products. We also review current biotechnological developments, the difficulties of large-scale use, and potential future developments for improving enzyme efficiency and industrial scalability. The worldwide bioeconomy may be greatly enhanced by using microbial proteases for sustainable biorefinery applications, which minimize environmental effects while optimizing resource use.
