Game Analysis of Driver Route Selection in Urban Traffic

摘要

With the rapid growth of motor vehicle ownership, the problem of urban traffic congestion has become increasingly serious. The aim of this study is to analyze the driver’s path choice behavior through game theory, and explore how to optimize the path choice in order to improve the road access efficiency and alleviate the urban traffic congestion. In this paper, complete information and incomplete information static game models are constructed to analyze drivers’ path choice behavior under different information conditions. The full information static game model shows that drivers will choose different paths to avoid congestion under information transparency, forming two Nash equilibrium strategies. In contrast, the incomplete information static game model shows that drivers’ decisions are influenced by expectations about the behavior of other drivers when information is not transparent. The results of the study show that improving the public transparency of traffic information is an effective means to optimize path selection and alleviate urban traffic congestion.
