Overcoming Challenges of Knowledge Sharing

This chapter highlights the 50 most common challenges to knowledge sharing and valuable actions, tactics, and strategies organisations can adopt to overcome them. The knowledge-sharing challenges can be classified into six groups covering various units of analysis: individual, team, organisation, technological, cultural, and contemporary nature of challenges. The evidence generated by high-quality academic articles published recently was relied upon. An attempt was made to synthesise and progress the coherence in scientific articles within the subject category of management and the closely related fields of knowledge management. In this way, a reasonably comprehensive overview of the prevailing wisdom is crafted here. In the final section, this chapter also provides information on multinational organisations’ knowledge-sharing approaches.
