Distal Tibia Resection and Endoprosthesis Reconstruction
摘要
Tumours in the distal tibia are uncommon. Benign aggressive bone lesions and primary bone tumours such as giant cell tumours and osteosarcoma typically affect the distal femur and proximal tibia, with the distal tibia and ankle being less frequently involved. The tibia ranks as the second most common site for osteosarcoma, with only a minority (20%) affecting the distal tibia. In contrast, giant cell tumours of the bone rarely impact the distal tibia, with less than 4% of cases occurring there. Current research indicates that osteosarcoma is the most prevalent pathological diagnosis among primary bone tumours in the distal tibia (75.1%), followed by Ewing’s sarcoma (7.4%) and giant cell tumours (6.8%).
