Distal Tibia Resection and Reconstruction
摘要
The distal tibia is a rare site for primary sarcomas. A below-knee amputation is often an acceptable option owing to the challenges of salvaging the limb and retaining good functional outcomes. The subcutaneous position of the tibia, lack of coverage of stable soft tissue cover, narrow surgical margin with respect to the major neurovascular bundle, and a small talus for prosthesis fixation pose difficulties in reconstructive options.
