Scapulectomy
摘要
Malignant tumour of the scapula is rare. Diseases include chondrosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma, osteosarcoma, and metastatic disease, particularly thyroid, where surgery is undertaken to improve overall outcome. Wide resection of the scapula for malignant tumour is aimed at achieving local control and preservation of upper limb function. Reconstructions following a scapulectomy are to provide a stable shoulder for good elbow and hand function.
