Type III Pelvic Resection
摘要
A classical type pelvis III resection involves the entire symphysis pubis, superior pubic rami and ischium. The acetabulum and pelvic brim are preserved. Type III hemipelvectomy encompasses resection of the ischio-pubic region area sparing the acetabulum. Reconstruction is not necessary. Functional outcome in these patients is good as the hip joint is maintained. Patients often return to functional activities as there is no loss of pelvic bony continuity between the acetabulum and sacrum.
