Digital Implementation and Construction Techniques of Supporting System Transformation: The Application of BIM Technology

In the field of construction engineering, both interior and exterior scaffolding serve as crucial tools for construction operations, yet their setup and dismantling processes pose numerous safety hazards. When encountering high-rise structures with a multi-story inward-retreating configuration, the exterior scaffolding and supporting frames need to be repeatedly erected and dismantled to meet construction needs, resulting in significant construction difficulty, high risk, and cost. In this paper, taking a multi-story inward-retreating structure project in Hangzhou city as an example, we focus on elaborating on the construction method of gradually converting multi-story inward-retreating exterior scaffolding into supporting frames and the application of BIM technology. We provide a brief overview of the project, detail the design approach, utilize BIM for construction simulation, emphasize key construction controls, generate corresponding economic and social benefits, promote the development and application of scaffolding engineering, and provide effective references for related engineering projects.
