Temperature, Rainfall, and LULC Variation Trend Analysis of Pennar River Basin, India

Climate change is a pressing global issue that significantly impacts environmental and ecological systems. This study investigates the interconnected effects of temperature changes, rainfall trends, and land use/land cover (LULC) changes in the Pennar Basin, located in southern India. Utilizing data from NASA's POWER project and Google Earth Engine, the research analyzes historical temperature and rainfall data from 2000 to 2022, alongside LULC changes over the same period. The findings reveal a notable increase in average temperatures and significant variability in rainfall patterns, with implications for agricultural productivity and water resource management. The study underscores the importance of understanding these interactions to develop effective mitigation and adaptation strategies for sustainable environmental management.
