A Coalition of Contradictions: The Promise and Peril of BRICS+
摘要
The evolution of the BRICS bloc into the BRICS+ coalition marks a significant geopolitical development, characterized by a fundamental tension between centripetal and centrifugal forces. Convergent interests in multipolarity, de-dollarization, and institutional counter-building are persistently challenged by internal fissures, including strategic rivalries and profound economic asymmetries. This analysis investigates the internal and external dimensions of this transformative alliance, its adjusted agenda following expansion, and the critical challenges ahead. The findings posit that the bloc’s long-term coherence as a viable alternative in the global architecture will be determined by its capacity to forge a constructed advantage through balanced technological development and deeper institutional integration, a process pivotal to shaping the twenty-first-century world order.
