Nitrogen Foam Flooding Technology for Enhanced Oil Recovery in High Water Cut Reservoirs

Taking Liu 28-1 fault block as an example, aiming at the problems of serious interlayer contradiction, low water drive utilization, poor water flooding effect and developed dominant seepage channels, nitrogen foam flooding and enhanced oil recovery technology were studied. On the basis of clarified the mechanism of nitrogen foam flooding to increase oil production, combined with the distribution characteristics of remaining oil in reservoir, the reservoir numerical simulation technology was used to carry out the policy demonstration of nitrogen foam flooding technology. It is clear that the best time for nitrogen foam injection is when comprehensive water cut ranged between 85 and 95%, the best injection mode is mixed injection, the gas-liquid ratio is 1:1, and the injection volume of single well is 40 to 60m3/d. Through the application of nitrogen foam flooding technology, it is predicted that this reservoir can increase the recoverable reserves of water drive by 3.14 percentage points and increase recovery ratio by 4.3 percentage points.
