Applying Ultra-Short Radius Horizontal Well Technology to Improve the Development Effect of Low Permeability Oil Fields

摘要

Ultra-short Radius Horizontal Well refers to a type of horizontal well with a curvature radius shorter than that of conventional drilling. This article mainly introduces the current status of Ultra-short Radius lateral drilling horizontal well technology and the drilling technology advantages of USR Company, The USR Ultra-short Radius lateral drilling application utilizes technologies such as wired monitoring while drilling (MWD), mud motors, and power faucets, which have the advantages of short pre target displacement, fixed depth, fixed direction, and fixed distance. At present, the low-permeability reservoirs in the periphery of Daqing Oilfield have low well network control, poor water injection efficiency, high difficulty in exploitation, low recovery rate, and difficulty in using conventional measures. How to solve these problems has become an urgent task. Ultra-short Radius horizontal well technology can increase the oil leakage area of old boreholes, shorten the displacement distance, accurately excavate remaining oil, and improve the degree of reserve utilization. At present, this technology has been implemented in 23 wells in the peripheral oil fields of Daqing, achieving good development results, which is of great significance for tapping the remaining oil potential of Daqing Oilfield.
