Technological Innovation and Practice of Geology and Engineering Integration in Sulige Gas Field

  • Hong Li

摘要

Since the development of the Sulige gas field, the project has consistently adhered to the goal of profitable development. Through deepening the integration of geology and engineering, establishing an integrated workflow, implementing interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrating theory with practice, a series of innovative technologies for Geological engineering integration have been developed, covering well deployment, drilling guidance, reservoir stimulation, and production enhancement. The application and practice of Geological engineering integration have ensured efficient drilling operations, achieved cost reduction and efficiency improvement, increased the drilling success rate in complex reservoirs, enhanced the stimulation effect of horizontal wells, controlled the comprehensive decline rate of gas reservoirs, and optimized the efficiency and cost of pipeline transportation. As a result, the cooperative blocks have successfully maintained a stable annual natural gas production of over 1.8 billion cubic meters for 14 consecutive years, with cumulative production exceeding 30 billion cubic meters. To address a series of challenges such as the poor quality of tight gas resources, complex gas-water relationships, and difficulties in maintaining stable production, strategies for unconventional oil and gas development are proposed. It is suggested to further deepen comprehensive geological research, break through engineering technology bottlenecks, refine the full-lifecycle management of gas wells, expand deep coalbed methane as an alternative resource, promote the iteration and upgrading of Geological engineering integration technologies, and thus ensure sustainable profitable development.
