Capacitor Banks and Distributed Generation Allocation in Modern Distribution Systems Using Walrus Optimization
摘要
This work proposes an optimal allocation methodology for hybrid distribution systems, utilizing the meta-heuristic-based Walrus Optimization Algorithm (WaOA) to allocate distributed generation and capacitor banks. For solving this optimal allocation problem, three different types of objective functions are considered, including minimization of voltage deviation, active power losses, and overall voltage stability index. These three objectives are augmented to form a single/one objective by using the weighted sum of individual objectives. The simulations are proposed on the IEEE 33 bus radial distribution system by using the WaOA. The proposed methodology offers the most optimal solution for all the simulation cases performed in this work in terms of power loss, minimum voltage, and minimum voltage deviation over other algorithms reported in the existing literature work.
