摘要

The Multi-level inverter (MLI) output is controlled using several control techniques, which are either low-frequency (LF) techniques or high-frequency (HF) techniques. The control schemes are used not only to improve the performance of the inverter but also to minimize harmonics. This article proposes a new LF technique for improving the inverter performance and reducing harmonics. Reduced switch count MLI is important for inverter cost minimization and maintaining the same efficiency for the same level of operation. A comprehensive analysis of recently introduced seven-level and nine-level inverter topologies is conducted to highlight the merits of the proposed architecture in achieving a reduction in the required number of power semiconductor switches. Using MATLAB/Simulink simulation tool and HIL implementation, the new approach with the suggested topology is tested under various loading conditions. The Thermal analysis was also performed in the PLECS software environment to estimate the efficacy and power losses of the proposed Multi-level inverter (MLI) system.
