Optimal Power Flow Using Discrete Firefly Algorithm
摘要
A power system is an integrated system comprising several traditional energy generation units and power transmission systems, designed to provide electrical energy to end-user load consumers through power distribution systems. This work solves an optimal power flow (OPF) problem by using discrete firefly algorithm (DFA). OPF problem is formulated by selecting three objectives: (i) total operating cost minimization, which includes the costs of thermal generators, (ii) loss minimization, and (iii) emission minimization. These objectives are solved independently by using the evolutionary-based discrete firefly algorithm (DFA). Simulations are performed on 30 bus system, and the corresponding optimal schedules, operating cost, losses, and emission are presented.
