Optimal Location of EV Charging Stations in a Radial Distribution Network for Loss Minimization

Fossil fuel demand is rising mostly due to which there is an increased carbon dioxide emission, which is a major contributor to global warming. Due to this rapidly increasing inconvenience, electric automobiles have had to be improved as a substitute form of transportation. The number of charging stations increased dramatically as a result of the quick spike in EV usage. Other issues like a decline in the voltage profile and an increase in the power loss are caused by the rapid upward push inside the penetration of electrical load. The best location for the electrical vehicle charging station is essential for solving this issue. Strategic selection of the charging station’s location is necessary to minimize the impact on the distribution network. The genetic algorithm is presented in the paper as an optimization technique to find the best location for EVCS, which should be placed in a radial distribution system. The standard 15-bus and the 33-bus networks are used as test systems and are substantiated in the MATLAB environment.
