Application of the Improved Radar Chart Method in the Evaluation of Lifting Systems for Sucker-Rod Pumping Wells

The evaluation of lifting systems in sucker-rod pumping wells integrates technical and economic factors through comprehensive assessment methods to rationally analyze system operational performance. This approach plays a critical role in optimizing artificial lift parameters and guiding oilfield production scientifically. However, traditional evaluation methods, such as fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and grey relational analysis, often present results as single numerical values, leading to insufficient intuitive interpretation. To address this limitation, the radar chart method is introduced for lifting system evaluation. Notably, conventional radar chart methods neglect the influence of evaluation indicator weights and fail to ensure result uniqueness. This study proposes improvements in two aspects: (1) determining the inter-axis angles of evaluation indicators based on their weights and (2) refining the computational methodology for comprehensive evaluation function values. Applying the enhanced radar chart method to select optimal lifting equipment models and pumping parameters for sucker-rod wells in a block of the Daqing Oilfield demonstrates its capability to visualize multi-dimensional system performance, enabling direct comparison of alternative lifting strategies. Case studies and field applications validate the rationality and effectiveness of the improved method in lifting system evaluation, providing a novel approach and methodology for designing artificial lift solutions in sucker-rod pumping wells.
