A method is proposed for extracting model identification features of three types of aircraft and constructing feature library. Based on a simple and practical mathematical model established and combined with simulation, the specific flowchart is given for getting the features such as blade number of propellers, blade length, rotation frequency and the number of compression stage. The operation steps are stated for constructing the model identification feature library. The proposed method introduces the concept of “circular correlation function \(circxcorr( \cdot )\) ”, by which it is successfully solved the difficulty of extracting the number of compression stage of the turbo jet aircraft. Compared with the method of wideband radar identification of aircraft model, such as ISAR imaging method, the proposed method possesses simple system complexity, low cost, relatively light computation and better real-time performance. The model identification feature library has important reference value for drills and actual combat.
