This work has proceeded from the premise that to understand genre is to understand meaning-making itself. The objective is to find out whether there are connections between the higher level of text genre and its linguistic realizations. If Chaps. 1 – 3 provide a transition from the larger academic field to the specific study, and Chaps. 4 – 9 report the results of the specific research, this chapter is then a transition, which moves from particular to general discussion. Its purpose is to guide the reader from the specific study back to the larger academic field.
