Research on the Active Traffic Management Technology Framework During the Renovation and Expansion Period of Highways

In recent years, active traffic management and control technology have become hot research topics in the industry, especially in the context of smart highway construction. Nowadays, the highway is gradually entering the stage of reconstruction and expansion. How to effectively ensure the safety, efficiency, and service level during the renovation and expansion construction period is an urgent problem to be solved. This paper reviews the challenges of traffic management and control during highway renovation and expansion, summarizes three application scenarios, constructs an active traffic management technology framework system, and proposes suggestions for establishing a collaborative operation mechanism. The research results provide valuable references for optimizing the design of highway renovation and expansion plans and improving safety protection levels.
